Being immersed in the ‘Dizziness of Correspondences’ residency has been an experience that has changed my work. I am currently coaxing my paintings from representation to abstraction, breaking down narrative and language to explore ideas of memory, loss and abstraction of the known landscape (both inner and outer). I am painting, exploring sound in relation to my paintings, and delving into some stop-motion-photography and video. The feedback from my colleagues and visiting faculty from Paris has been amazing… The continual exposure to National and International artists has been so exciting that I hardly contain myself! I feel that I am fully immersed in my practice here, pouring every waking hour into some creative endeavor. There will be ‘open studios’ this coming Friday December 6 between 3-6 PM.

Rob Mabee, owner of Axis Contemporary Art, is closing the doors to his gallery at the end of December. Rob has been an amazing gallery owner over the years. We have put on many events together. He has supported my work, my ‘Artist Talks’ and my career. I honestly can’t thank him enough! Rob Mabee is someone of integrity, and I will miss him and his gallery so much. I have posted some pics of the gallery here:
